Det internasjonale sykkelforbundet (UCI) tar grep og myker opp forpleiningsreglene i Tour de France for å ta bedre hensyn til rytternes helse i ekstremvarmen.
Tiltakene kommer fram i en pressemelding fra UCI tirsdag formiddag.
Konkret åpner man unntaksvis for bruk av forpleiningsposer i soner som opprinnelig kun var godkjent for utdeling av flasker, såkalte vannflaskesoner, selv om disse befinner seg på offisielle klatrestrekninger.
Hensikten er å gjøre det mulig å dele ut flere flasker til hver rytter samtidig, slik at man sikrer optimalt væskeinntak under de varslede værforholdene.
UCI understreker at tiltaket innføres på prøvebasis, og at det vil bli evaluert fortløpende ut fra værforhold, effektivitet og innvirkning på gjennomføringen av rittet.
Red Bull Investigates Verstappen's Second Wing Failure
