Hamilton: Wouldn't Have Pitted for Second Place

Lewis Hamilton has revealed he wouldn't have pitted under the late safety car at the British Grand Prix had he known he would lose second place to George Russell.

Seven-time world champion Hamilton explained his decision came after the race was neutralized following Max Verstappen's crash at Stowe. The Mercedes driver had been behind Ferrari's Charles Leclerc when the safety car emerged, but his second pit stop dropped him to third behind Russell.

Hamilton's admission comes after a dramatic conclusion to the British GP where Leclerc took the victory, Verstappen crashed out, and Hamilton's late pit strategy backfired, allowing Russell to claim second place. catcross.biz
