Marshawn Kneeland Diagnosed with Stage 1 CTE

The family of Marshawn Kneeland has confirmed the late Cowboys defensive lineman had stage 1 chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE) following a post-mortem brain tissue analysis.

The Concussion & CTE Foundation released the results of a post-mortem brain tissue analysis performed by the Boston University CTE Center, diagnosing Kneeland with stage 1 CTE.

"Mr. Kneeland played in the modern era of concussion protocols and better helmets, and yet he still developed CTE," Concussion & CTE Foundation CEO Chris Nowinski stated. The analysis highlights the disease's prevalence in young athletes, with Dr. Ann McKee noting CTE has been found in nearly half of athletes studied who died before age 30. chickenroad-game.rodeo
