Bears Sign Sewell, Place Garvin on IR

The Bears have signed undrafted defensive back Marlen Sewell and placed Jonathan Garvin on injured reserve in corresponding roster moves.

Chicago announced the transactions on Tuesday morning. Sewell, an undrafted free agent out of Vanderbilt, signed with the Chiefs after the draft but was released in June. He recorded 52 tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, a half-sack and two passes defensed for the Commodores last season.

Garvin, who played in 38 games for the Packers between 2020 and 2022, has not appeared in a game over the last three seasons. The defensive lineman will miss time with an undisclosed injury. saltysenoritaaz.com
