Arizona Advances to NCAA Tennis Second Round

The 8th-seeded Arizona Wildcats defeated NAU 4-0 on Friday, advancing to the NCAA Tournament second round for the sixth consecutive season.

Arizona (22-4) will face Clemson (17-12) in the second round Saturday at 1 p.m. PT. The Wildcats needed less than 90 minutes to secure the victory, with Jay Friend, Filip Gustafsson and Alejandro Arcila each winning in straight sets.

Clemson advanced by defeating Ole Miss 4-3 in a match that lasted nearly three hours. Arizona coach Clancy Shields called the upcoming matchup an 'absolute war,' noting that Clemson looked 'awesome' in their first-round win. afsport.lat
